CastBrowser Receiver for Samsung TV: Privacy Notice

1. Scope and operator

This notice applies to the CastBrowser Receiver app installed on a Samsung TV. It complements the separate CastBrowser phone app privacy policy. 2. Information used by the receiver

The receiver creates a random TV identifier and stores it, together with a TV name, on the TV. It also reads the TV model and software version when available. During pairing, the receiver and the CastBrowser phone app exchange the identifier, TV name, model, supported features, connection code or address, and temporary session credentials over the local network. The phone sends playback commands and media details, which can include a video title, media URL and subtitle URL. The receiver sends playback status, position and errors back to the phone.

These details are needed to pair the devices, play the video you choose and let your phone control playback. The receiver does not ask for your name, email address, account or payment details. This TV app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

3. Where information goes

Pairing and playback messages go between your TV and phone on your local network; the receiver does not send them to a CastBrowser cloud service during normal operation. The local connection can use HTTP, so use a network you trust. To play a video or load subtitles, the TV may contact the source website or media host directly, or receive a media relay from your phone. The source host may see the TV network address and the requested media URL. Its own privacy policy governs that service. The phone app has separate data practices described in its privacy policy.

4. Storage and your choices

The TV identifier and name remain in local TV app storage so the receiver can be recognized again. Connection credentials and current playback details are held for the active session and cleared when the receiver disconnects or closes. You can disconnect from the TV app or phone app. Removing the receiver app or clearing its TV app data removes its locally saved identifier and name. Media hosts and the phone app may retain information under their own policies.

5. Support, children and changes

If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to provide and use it to answer your request. The receiver is not directed at children under 16.
