Frequently Asked Questions

How do I cast a video to my TV?
1. Open CastBrowser and browse to any website with videos 2. When videos are detected, they'll appear in a list 3. Tap the cast icon to see available devices 4. Select your TV or streaming device 5. The video will start playing on your TV
Which streaming devices are supported?
CastBrowser supports a wide range of devices: • Chromecast (all generations) • Google TV and Android TV • Roku devices • Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick • Samsung Smart TVs • LG, Sony, and other DLNA/UPnP compatible Smart TVs • Web Receiver (any device with a web browser) If your device supports Chromecast, DLNA, or UPnP protocols, it should work with CastBrowser.
Why can't I find my TV in the device list?
Try these troubleshooting steps: • Ensure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network • Check that your TV has casting/DLNA enabled in settings • Pull down to refresh the device list • Wait 30 seconds for devices to respond • Restart both your TV and phone • Make sure no VPN is active on your phone
Why does video playback stop or buffer?
Buffering is usually caused by network issues: • Slow internet connection • Weak Wi-Fi signal • Network congestion Solutions: • Use 5GHz Wi-Fi instead of 2.4GHz • Move closer to your router • Close other bandwidth-heavy apps • Try a lower video quality if available
The app isn't detecting videos on a page. What should I do?
Try these steps: • Make sure the video is actually playing on the page • Tap the video player to start playback first • Enter and exit fullscreen mode • Use the "Scan for videos" option in the menu • Some sites load videos dynamically - wait a few seconds • DRM-protected content (Netflix, Disney+, etc.) cannot be detected
Why is there no sound when casting?
Check the following: • Verify your TV volume isn't muted • Check your TV's audio output settings • Some video formats use audio codecs not supported by all TVs • Try casting a different video to isolate the issue
What is the Web Receiver and how do I use it?
The Web Receiver turns any device with a web browser into a casting target: 1. Open a browser on your computer or smart TV 2. Go to the Web Receiver URL shown in the app 3. The device will appear in your casting device list 4. Cast videos to it like any other device This is perfect for devices that don't have built-in casting support.
Can I control playback from my phone?
Yes! Once casting, you have full control: • Play/Pause • Seek forward/backward • Adjust volume • Stop casting Controls appear in the app and in your notification panel.
Why does the app disconnect when my screen turns off?
This is usually caused by battery optimization. To fix: Android: • Go to Settings > Apps > CastBrowser > Battery • Select "Unrestricted" or "Don't optimize" Samsung devices: • Also disable "Put app to sleep" in battery settings Xiaomi/Redmi: • Enable "Autostart" permission for CastBrowser
Why can't I seek (skip) in some videos?
Some videos don't support seeking: • Live streams don't allow skipping • Some servers don't support range requests • Certain streaming formats are stream-only If seeking doesn't work, the video format likely doesn't support it.
How do I clear my browsing history?
To clear your data: 1. Open CastBrowser 2. Go to Settings (gear icon) 3. Tap "Clear Data" 4. Choose what to clear: History, Cookies, Cache, or All Data
