Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

1. Introduction

ROTUNDA TECH LTD ("Company", "we", "our", or "us") operates CastBrowser ("App", "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Company Information:

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores certain data locally on your device to provide its functionality:

  • Browsing data: History, bookmarks, and session data you create while using the built-in browser
  • WebView storage: Cookies, site data, and cached content from websites you visit through the App
  • App preferences: Your settings and configuration choices
  • Casting session data: Information needed to connect to and control your casting devices

This local data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear this data at any time through the App settings or by uninstalling the App.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we automatically collect certain information through third-party services:

  • Analytics data: App usage patterns and feature interactions (via Firebase Analytics). We do not log full URLs in analytics; we log domain-level information.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and general device identifiers
  • Crash and error reports: When errors occur, we collect diagnostic information (such as device state, logs, view hierarchy, and information about the connected casting device like device type and device name) to help us identify and fix issues (via Sentry). This may also include a screenshot and an on-error session replay of the app UI (captured only when an error occurs), which may include on-screen content.
  • Advertising data: If the App displays ads, our advertising partners (such as Google AdMob) may collect your device's advertising identifier (AAID on Android, IDFA on iOS), IP address, device and app information, and ad interaction data (such as impressions and clicks). See Section 5 for details.

2.3 Network and Casting Information

To provide casting functionality, the App discovers devices on your local network:

  • Local network discovery: The App scans your local network to find compatible casting devices (Chromecast, DLNA/UPnP devices)
  • Device information: IP addresses and device names of casting devices on your network are processed locally to enable casting

This network information is processed on your device to enable casting. We do not transmit your local network scan results to our servers as part of normal operation.

2.4 Information You Provide

When you contact us for support, we receive the information you provide in your message, which may include your email address, device information, and app version that you choose to share.

2.5 Purchases and Subscriptions

The App may offer optional in-app purchases or subscriptions (for example, a subscription that removes ads). Payment processing is handled entirely by the relevant app store (Google Play or Apple App Store) under its own terms and privacy policy — we never receive or store your payment card details. To activate a purchase, we may receive non-payment purchase information from the app store, such as the product identifier, purchase or entitlement status, and a store-generated transaction token.

2.6 Content Filtering Rules

The App may periodically download content filtering rules from our servers. These requests are subject to standard server logging (IP address, request time, device type) for security and operational purposes.

2.7 Search Suggestions

When you type in the App's address bar, your input is sent in real-time to Google's autocomplete service (suggestqueries.google.com) to provide search suggestions. This means:

  • Search queries: Text you type in the address bar is transmitted to Google
  • IP address: Your device's IP address is visible to Google along with your queries
  • Real-time transmission: Data is sent as you type, not just when you submit a search

This data is processed by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not store or have access to the search suggestion queries you make.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide the Service: Enable browsing, video detection, and casting functionality
  • To improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience
  • To fix issues: Diagnose and resolve crashes, errors, and technical problems
  • To communicate: Respond to your support requests and inquiries
  • To show advertising: Display and measure ads that keep the App free, as described in Section 5
  • To ensure security: Protect against fraud and maintain service integrity

4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom (UK), we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the Service you requested (browsing, video detection, and casting)
  • Legitimate interests: Analytics, crash reporting, and service improvement, where our interests do not override your rights
  • Consent: For personalized advertising and for optional features or permissions where consent is required by law
  • Legal obligations: Where required to comply with applicable laws

Note: If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, the App shows a consent dialog before serving ads. Personalized ads are shown only with your consent; if you decline, you may see non-personalized (limited) ads instead. You can change your choice at any time in the App settings.

5. Advertising

The App may display advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, such as Google AdMob (provided by Google LLC). Advertising helps keep the App free. We may work with additional or different ad networks over time; the advertising services currently in use are listed in Section 6, and we will update that list and this section before any new network goes live.

5.1 Data Collected for Advertising

When ads are shown, our advertising partners may collect and process:

  • Advertising identifiers: Your device's advertising ID (AAID on Android, IDFA on iOS, where permitted)
  • IP address: Which may be used to estimate your general (coarse) location
  • Device and app information: Device model, operating system version, and app version
  • Ad interaction data: Ad impressions, clicks, and related diagnostic information

Each advertising partner processes this data under its own privacy policy, linked in Section 6. Where ads are served by Google, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

5.2 Consent (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the App presents a consent dialog (using a Google-certified consent management platform) before ads are served. You can choose whether to allow personalized ads; if you do not consent, non-personalized (limited) ads may be shown instead. You can review or change your consent choice at any time from the App settings.

5.3 Your Advertising Controls

  • iOS: Control tracking permission under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking (App Tracking Transparency). If you deny tracking, your IDFA is not available to advertisers.
  • Android: Delete or reset your advertising ID and opt out of ads personalization under Settings > Google > Ads (path may vary by device).
  • Google account: For ads served by Google, manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.

Ads in the App are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly serve personalized ads to users under the age of consent in their jurisdiction.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information:

If we add or change advertising networks or other data-collecting services, we will update this list before the change takes effect.

When you browse websites using the App, those websites may have their own privacy policies and may collect data according to their terms. The App's WebView stores cookies and site data from these websites locally on your device. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of websites you visit.

7. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party vendors who assist in operating the App (analytics and crash reporting)
  • Advertising Partners: With the ad networks listed in Section 6 to serve and measure in-app ads, as described in Section 5
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or in response to valid legal processes
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:

  • Analytics data: Retained according to Firebase's retention policies (typically 14 months)
  • Crash reports: Retained according to Sentry's data retention settings (typically up to 90 days)
  • Advertising data: Collected and retained by our advertising partners according to their own policies (for Google, see Google's data retention practices)
  • Local device data: Retained until you clear it through App settings or uninstall the App

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete such information.

11. Your Rights

  • Review and manage app permissions and platform privacy settings on your device

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the following additional rights under GDPR:

  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
  • Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Right to Opt-Out: Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: We do not sell personal information. However, if the App shows personalized ads, the transfer of device identifiers and ad interaction data to our advertising partners may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. You can opt out of this sharing by: (1) declining personalized ads in the App's consent dialog where shown, (2) disabling tracking or deleting your advertising ID in your device settings (see Section 5.3), or (3) emailing us at contact@castbrowser.tv with "CCPA Opt-Out" in the subject line. When you opt out, ad requests are limited to non-personalized advertising.

12. Data Deletion Requests

CastBrowser respects your right to request deletion of your personal data.

How to Request Deletion:

Email us at: contact@castbrowser.tv with "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line.

What Data Will Be Deleted:

  • Analytics data collected through Firebase Analytics
  • Crash reports and diagnostics collected through Sentry

Advertising data associated with your advertising ID is held by the ad network that served the ads. You can delete or reset your advertising ID at any time through your device settings (see Section 5.3), which unlinks previously collected ad data from your device.

Timeline:

Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your request.

Note:

Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained for statistical purposes but cannot identify you personally.

13. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States (where our third-party service providers operate). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also provide notice through the App. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
