Anyview Cast on Hisense TV: How to Use It, Fixes and the iPhone Workaround
What Anyview Cast is, how to connect an Android phone or Windows PC to it, and what to do when your phone can't use it.
Quick answer
Anyview Cast is the screen-mirroring input on Hisense's own smart TVs. It isn't an app you download: you select it on the TV, then turn on wireless display on an Android phone or Windows PC. Hisense's manuals don't list iPhones, and some Android phones can't use it. To watch a video rather than mirror your screen, turn on the TV's Content Sharing and cast to it with an app such as CastBrowser, from iPhone or Android.

What is Anyview Cast?
Hisense's H9908 user manual calls Anyview Cast an app for sharing a video, audio or image from an Android-based device to the TV. In practice it mirrors the phone's screen: you pick it from the TV's Input list and the phone connects through its wireless display setting.
Hisense has renamed these features over time. The 2021 VIDAA U4.2 manual calls the mirroring feature Screen Sharing and lists Android and Windows 10 devices. The same manual describes a separate feature, Content Sharing, for playing videos, music and photos sent from Android, iOS or PC devices. Older models call that Anyview Stream.
| Feature name on the TV | What it does | Works with | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anyview Cast / Screen Sharing | Mirrors your whole screen | Android; Windows 10 on newer VIDAA. Some Android devices aren't supported | Input → Anyview Cast, or Screen Sharing on newer VIDAA |
| Anyview Stream / Content Sharing | Plays videos, music and photos sent from another device | Android, iOS and PC apps that support media sharing | Settings → Network → Anyview Stream, or Settings → System → Application Manager → Content Sharing |
Menu names differ between models and software versions. If you can't find either name, search your model number on Hisense's support site for its manual.
How to use Anyview Cast from an Android phone
These steps follow Hisense's manuals:
- Connect the TV to your network. On older models, Hisense's manual has you choose Wireless under Settings → Network → Network Configuration first.
- Select Anyview Cast on the TV. Press Input on the remote and choose Anyview Cast. On newer VIDAA software, open Screen Sharing instead.
- Turn on wireless display on the phone. The name depends on the phone maker: Smart View on Samsung Galaxy phones, and Cast, Screen Cast or Wireless display on others.
- Choose the TV. Select your Hisense in the phone's list and wait for the TV to finish creating the connection. Your screen then appears on the TV.
Hisense notes that some Android-based devices may not support casting. If your phone never shows the TV, skip to casting a video instead.
On a Windows PC, select Anyview Cast or Screen Sharing on the TV, then open the Cast panel with the Windows key + K and choose the TV.
Why Anyview Cast doesn't work with iPhone (or Pixel)
Hisense's manuals list Android and Windows devices for Anyview Cast and Screen Sharing, not iPhones. An iPhone mirrors its screen with AirPlay: Apple's instructions cover Apple TV and AirPlay-compatible smart TVs. If your Hisense supports AirPlay, use that for mirroring; check your model's specifications, because many models don't.
A Google Pixel can be stuck the same way. Google's Pixel instructions cover casting to Google Cast devices and don't mention wireless display, so a Pixel may never list the Anyview Cast input.
For video, neither phone needs Anyview Cast. Hisense's VIDAA manual says that if your device doesn't support content sharing, you can download an app that does. That is the route below.
Watch a video instead: cast to your Hisense with CastBrowser
CastBrowser sends a compatible web video or phone file to the TV's media player through Content Sharing, a DLNA renderer. It doesn't mirror your screen, so the phone stays free and notifications stay off the TV. It works from iPhone and Android, with nothing to install on the TV.
- Turn on Content Sharing. On newer VIDAA software, it's under Settings → System → Application Manager → Content Sharing. On older models, turn on Anyview Stream under Settings → Network.
- Join the same Wi-Fi. Hisense's manual requires the phone and TV to be on the same network for Content Sharing.
- Open a video in CastBrowser. Browse to a compatible website and start its video, or open the menu and tap Phone Files to pick a video stored on the phone.
- Tap the cast icon and choose the Hisense. The video plays in the TV's media player, and you control it from the phone.
Phone volume works when the TV's renderer exposes a volume control. Subtitle switching isn't available on this route. Hisense's VIDAA manual lists MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV and other formats, but what plays depends on your model's codecs. Netflix, Disney+ and other protected services can't be sent from a browser; use their own TV apps.
If your Hisense runs Google TV, Roku TV or Fire TV instead of VIDAA, it casts through that platform. The Hisense casting guide covers each one.

Anyview Cast or casting: which one do you need?
- Use Anyview Cast to show what is on your Android phone or PC: photos, an app, a game or a presentation.
- Use casting to watch a video. The TV plays the file itself, which is usually smoother than mirroring, and you can lock the phone or use other apps.
More on the difference: screen mirroring vs casting.
Anyview Cast not working? Fixes
- No Anyview Cast in the Input list. Newer VIDAA software calls it Screen Sharing. If your Hisense runs Google TV, Roku TV or Fire TV, use that platform's casting instead.
- The TV doesn't appear on the phone. Make sure the TV is showing the Anyview Cast or Screen Sharing screen before you search, and that wireless display is on. If the phone has no wireless display setting, it can't use Anyview Cast.
- It connects, then drops or stutters. Mirroring streams your whole screen live. Move closer to the TV, close other apps, or cast the video instead.
- The phone isn't supported. Hisense says some Android devices can't cast to it. Use Content Sharing with a casting app instead.
- Update the TV. Hisense's manual puts the software check under Settings → Support → Check Software Upgrade on older models.
- Restart both devices. Power-cycle the TV and the phone, then try again.
